Dr. Christina Paylan graduated from the University of Southern California after which she began a general surgical residency. Following her general surgery training, she completed a fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of South Florida/Tampa General Hospital. She is now in private practice in the Tampa Bay area. Dr. Paylan is certified by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons and the American Society of Cosmetic Breast Surgery and is an associate fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Paylan has also been coauthor in the surgical textbook, "Modern Surgical Care", in which she has written a chapter on surgical infections and how to manage them. Being at the forefront of the knowledge concerning surgical infections, Dr. Paylan has been extremely successful in creating a "zero-percent" surgical infection rate in her practice.

Dr. Paylan has performed over 2,000 invasive and non-invasive cosmetic procedures. One of her greatest attributes is her closeness to every single one of her patients. Her office provides a comfortable and relaxed environment to make your experience a positive one. She works one-on-one with you and is always accessible to answer any questions. Minimal Recovery Time

Dr. Paylan utilizes one of the least invasive forms of sedation in order to minimize recovery time following her cosmetic procedures. She is a big proponent of what is commonly referred to as conscious sedation that bypasses the use of general anesthetics that use paralytic agents to paralyze the body. Strong scientific data exists to show that general anesthesia leads to prolonged recovery when compared to conscious sedation. With Dr. Paylan's unique surgical skills, she can even perform some of her procedures with only local, regional anesthesia.

Rapid Healing and Recuperation

Dr. Paylan has incorporated the use of Arnica Pills as well as a special formulation Vitamin K to help with any bruising or swelling some individuals may experience. In addition to the Arnica Pills and the Vitamin K, Dr. Paylan requires that all of her liposuction patients undergo a unique medical massage that consists of milking the tissues to prevent any potential excessive scarring. These massages also set in place the contouring of the body that Dr. Paylan so meticulously creates during the course of procedures involving body sculpting.  Patients are then offered a new and second beginning way of living within weeks of their surgery where they spend 1 hour in counseling with our highly trained nutrition specialists who offer new ways of eating, exercising and staying in shape!

Zero Infection Rate

Having been the co-author of a chapter on surgical infections, in a major surgical textbook, Dr. Paylan takes pride in the fact that her patients have not had any overwhelming infection requiring hospitalization or intense treatment. She attributes this success not only to her meticulous sterile technique, but also to the fact that she does not operate on patients who smoke. Dr. Paylan does offer very effective programs to her patients for them to quit smoking.

No Photo Polishing

Dr. Paylan takes pride in the fact that she does not engage in any polishing of her before and after photos of her patients. The pictures presented on her website are actual photos of patients without any photo finish. The results are just as they seem in the picture, no worse, no better- because Dr. Paylan does not believe in editing her before and after pictures.
